With Mamelodi Sundowns drawing level on points at the top of the PSL table, Kaizer Chiefs appear to be facing a big 10 days in the 2013/14 season.
Chiefs currently have two games-in-hand over Sundowns, and will be looking to put some daylight between themselves and their title rivals. In addition, Amakhosi will no doubt be looking to put the disappointment of crashing out of the Caf Champions League behind them as well.
First in line for the Glamour Boys are basement-dwellers, Golden Arrows, on Wednesday (April 2). This will surely be a match coach Stuart Baxter will be targetting as a must-win. Arrows are in dire straits, and seem completely devoid of confidence.
Then follows what could be a defining match of the club's season as a whole when Chiefs take on Downs on Saturday (April 5). The winner of this contest could open up huge implications in the title race.
The following Wednesday (April 9), Baxter's charges will then go up against Black Aces. Clive Barker's side are an impressive football team, and could pose something of a threat.
What seems to stand in Chiefs' favour is that, the club are at home in all three matches. The Black and Gold are undefeated in 25 matches on home soil.
Nonetheless, Corporate Communications manager, Vina Maphosa, believes that the club can prevail if the fans can get behind the team.
He told the club's official website, "The title race is heating up. We are calling on all the Amakhosi to rally behind the Gold and Black during the next week. The players need the 12th man in the stands to go through this hectic programme."
This Wednesday's action against Arrows gets underway from 19h30 at FNB Stadium.
