'Chiefs Could Only Score Through Set-Pieces'

Bloemfontein Celtic head coach Lehlohonolo Seema insists Kaizer Chiefs were only able to hurt them on dead-ball situations during their eight-goal thriller.

The Free State allowed Chiefs to rally back on three occasions before succumbing to a 5-3 defeat in the Absa Premiership on Saturday evening.

While Celtic were unable to deal with Chiefs on dead-ball situations, Seema claims injuries have hampered his side this season.

"I think we gave the game away, that is the only they could score through the set-pieces. We worked on them, we spoke about them even at half-time, every time we scored, they went on to have a set-piece and scored," Seema told SuperSport after the game.

"It's either we are not marking properly or the defence went to sleep knowing that is one of their strongest point. In any case, we'll have to soldier on, unfortunately the injuries are not helping us either especially at the back also, we always to try to patch and use whatever we have.

"But today it was just the set-pieces, we were aware that those are their strongest point but we continued to give set pieces away, we couldn't defend them better and they proved to be very strong on set-pieces," he continued.

"I don't think [we did] anything [wrong] tactically, in the field of play... we contained them, we were even better than them but up until...I can't believe we scored three goals and we didn't win the game. Once they led, then we knew it was going to be very difficult for us to come [back], but we'll have to soldier on and learn. We have to shift again the defence, [Mzwanele] Mahashe got his fourth yellow card, defensively you could see that we were a little bit thin."
