6 Players That Could Save Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs Could Go Big In The Next Transfer Window

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 19, 2018 01:12 PM
Kaizer Chiefs are set to miss out on the Absa Premiership league title for the third straight year and aren’t too far away from yet another completely barren season.

With Steve Komphela’s future at the club far from certain, Amakhosi’s management will need a big transfer window at the end of the season if they’re going to try and turn the club back into title challengers once again.
Chiefs have already been linked with a number of different players who are touted to make the move to Naturena, put the biggest among them is undoubtedly Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat.
Billiat will see his contract at Downs come to an end in just a few months, and as of yet, there has been no confirmation as to where he will be playing his football next season.
It will come as no surprise that it is attacking players that have made it to the top of Chiefs’ list in terms of targets, with the club really battling in front of goal throughout the course of this entire season.
Billiat, who would be available as a free transfer, has scored 58 goals during his time in the Absa Premiership and is also adept at providing them for his teammates. His link up with Leonardo Castro proved fruitful at Sundowns, and Chiefs would love to recreate that partnership in Soweto.
Meanwhile, other players linked to Chiefs in the last couple of months are the likes of Rodney Ramagalela, Lebohang Maboe, Anthony Laffor, Mosa Lebusa and Thabo Nodada.
Ramagalela is on track to win the Golden Boot this year and has continued his scoring form from last season, with Chiefs believed to be looking at the possibility of bringing him in to help boost their attacking options, and the same can be said for Laffor - a long-term target for the Amakhosi.

Both Maboe and Nodada are seen as talented young players in the Absa Premiership that could come in to become replacements for some of Chiefs' ageing players, while Lebusa is - and has been - hot property in the PSL for some time now.

All six aforementioned players - if signed - could come in to make an immediate impact at the club, although at this point in time it remains to be seen whether it will be Komphela at the helm or not.
Chiefs are currently in fifth place in the Absa Premiership, and with six games left to play, only bottom-of-the-league Platinum Stars have scored fewer goals than them (20/15). They do, however, have the joint-best defensive record, having conceded just 15.

I think the management of chiefs they will have to blame themself, they took long to bring the quality players in the team,I don't think is good to blame khomphela, player like castro and Ntshangase they should have joined chiefs long time ago,we played many drows our strikers we not clinical up front, the quality was lacking all the time.

It will be suicidal to comment on speculation until Chiefs confirmed the rumours

We have Mahlasela. I believe Billiat is the type of player we need. Both these two player will give us much needed penetration and thrust. But that we can't achieve with the current coach and Ntshangase being the point of reference.

@Dangerous when provoked Bafo when last did Chiefs break the bank for a player? Phela iChiefs the last 3 seasons was only getting free agents or players who's contract is about to expire cz that player is cheap like Mphahlele & Castro................& the less i talk about the Zim players (buy 1 get 5 free) the better., even uNtshangase iBaroka wanted R2m still nakhala & i'm sure iBaroka will get their full money after 24 months in installments.......even a blind person can see ukuthi iChiefs is stingy n broke bafo.

I really dont see anything wrong with current squad Chiefs have, but what I see is the man in charge of the team. We tried to sign on form CTC striker but we failed to utilise him correctly, and he return back to his former team.

...Komphela has a serious problem. Just have a look, he chose Eish-Tein over ever-Fit Gordhino. He would rather bench Mathoho, knowingly that, whenever he field him-the guy dont disappoint..and actually, his rescuer to go to the next round of Nedbank. Steven Komphela is good for the smallanyana teams...the likes of Michau Warriors, so...All he is good at is dressing his blankets-like shirts and try to shift his losses with his dictionary-English that is meaningless in times-it is just that, many people dont analyse his bombastic words but get charmed by his "mwacostingllossescious to the team...and the sun will rise and set, then the cattle will come back home and cats meoowed by the tunnel."

In fact, Stevie should be a Director and we get a new coach from overseas. Then, we will be back in the business of success.
