Kaizer Chiefs are set to miss out on the Absa Premiership league title for the third straight year and aren’t too far away from yet another completely barren season.

With Steve Komphela’s future at the club far from certain, Amakhosi’s management will need a big transfer window at the end of the season if they’re going to try and turn the club back into title challengers once again.
Chiefs have already been linked with a number of different players who are touted to make the move to Naturena, put the biggest among them is undoubtedly Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat.
Billiat will see his contract at Downs come to an end in just a few months, and as of yet, there has been no confirmation as to where he will be playing his football next season.
It will come as no surprise that it is attacking players that have made it to the top of Chiefs’ list in terms of targets, with the club really battling in front of goal throughout the course of this entire season.
Billiat, who would be available as a free transfer, has scored 58 goals during his time in the Absa Premiership and is also adept at providing them for his teammates. His link up with Leonardo Castro proved fruitful at Sundowns, and Chiefs would love to recreate that partnership in Soweto.
Meanwhile, other players linked to Chiefs in the last couple of months are the likes of Rodney Ramagalela, Lebohang Maboe, Anthony Laffor, Mosa Lebusa and Thabo Nodada.
Ramagalela is on track to win the Golden Boot this year and has continued his scoring form from last season, with Chiefs believed to be looking at the possibility of bringing him in to help boost their attacking options, and the same can be said for Laffor - a long-term target for the Amakhosi.
Both Maboe and Nodada are seen as talented young players in the Absa Premiership that could come in to become replacements for some of Chiefs' ageing players, while Lebusa is - and has been - hot property in the PSL for some time now.
All six aforementioned players - if signed - could come in to make an immediate impact at the club, although at this point in time it remains to be seen whether it will be Komphela at the helm or not.
Chiefs are currently in fifth place in the Absa Premiership, and with six games left to play, only bottom-of-the-league Platinum Stars have scored fewer goals than them (20/15). They do, however, have the joint-best defensive record, having conceded just 15.
