Date Set For Amakhosi Return, Some Won’t Be Back
Kaizer Chiefs Are Now Officially Into Their Off-Season
Kaizer Chiefs have been given almost six weeks off as they recuperate following a tough season for the players at Naturena.
The Amakhosi went in for testing yesterday as they said their goodbyes to the 2017/18 campaign, closing the door on what has been another trophyless season for the Soweto giants.
Now, according to Siya sources, the players have been given nearly six weeks for their off-season before returning for pre-season on June 25th.
At this point in time, there have been no indications as to which players will be coming back for pre-season though, with the club promising a major overhaul at the club having gone three campaigns without a trophy for the first time in their history.
There are expected to be a number of players, who could possibly be contacted in the coming weeks, that won’t be asked to return next month, while Brilliant Khuzwayo definitely won’t be back after recently saying his goodbyes.
It is also unknown as to where the club will undergo their pre-season, although there is a chance that they could return to Potchefstroom once again, the venue of several of their past pre-season preparations.
Chiefs recently confirmed that they had cancelled their end of season awards following a disappointing season that saw them finish third behind Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
