The 20-year-old centre back spent a week training with the Amakhosi earlier this month alongside his former teammates, Michelle Katsvairo and Edmore Chirambadare, however left the country over the weekend as they prepared for the clash with Bidvest Wits.
Chiefs went on to lose the game 2-1 at Bidvest Stadium, and with the full extent of Erick Mathoho’s ankle injury not yet known, it appears that they have stepped up the chase for another central defender.
According to the player’s agent, Gibson Mahachi, who facilitated the deals of both Katsvairo and Chirambadare, Steve Komphela liked what he saw.
Mahachi told Zimbabwe’s Chronicle, “Kaizer Chiefs indicated that Hadebe, who returned from South Africa on Sunday, made the grade and as it is they've started negotiations with his club. Negotiations are a process, but if all the parties agree, he will join Chiefs before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.”
The South African window closes at midnight on 31 August, giving Chiefs less than a week to try and push this deal over the line if they do want to bring him on board.
