Interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in an in-form Zambian striker has been confirmed at the player’s current club.
In last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, edition 1077, the Siya crew reported on Chiefs’ interest in Lazarus Kambole, who proved his class with impressive form and a knack for scoring goals with the Zambian national team in the recently completed COSAFA Cup here in Mzansi.
With the reports of Kambole’s interest doing the rounds in football fraternity, the player’s current employers from defending FAZ Super Division champions Zesco United have weighed in on the transfer rumours, citing that the forward is not going anywhere for now, according to reports from Zambia.
Zambian website Lusakatimes.com reports that Zesco has confirmed interest pouring in for the player, from Mzansi and the Middle East.
“They are a number of teams especially from South Africa and the Middle East interested in him. But what we have told all of them is we are competing in the league and we are also competing in the Champions League and we wouldn’t want to sell our best players right now. What we have told them is; talk to us in December,” Zesco CEO Richard Mulenga is quoted as saying on Lusakatimes.com.
