Amakhosi Signing Set To Miss Out?
Kabelo Mahlasela Is Unlikely To Get A Kaizer Chiefs Debut This Season
One of Kaizer Chiefs’ most recent signings is set to finish the season without having made his debut for the Glamour Boys, with Kabelo Mahlasela unlikely to feature this weekend.
Mahlasela joined Chiefs from Bloemfontein Celtic back in January as he looked to make the next step in his career, however, was dealt a hammer blow shortly after signing as he picked up a serious knee injury in training.
The 27-year-old hasn’t played since helping Celtic draw with SuperSport United back in December, although he is on the road to recovery after undergoing knee surgery earlier this year.
Having been spotted back in training, there were suggestions that Mahlasela could make his Amakhosi debut before the season was out, however, the Siya crew have been informed that it is unlikely as they go into their final game of the season against Ajax Cape Town tomorrow.
It is thought that, though back in light training, the midfielder is still being used as an extra man and is not in full contact training, suggesting that he will be given the off-season to make a full recovery before being given the chance to don the gold and black in an official game.
Meanwhile, as previously reported by the crew, Teenage Hadebe is also a doubt for tomorrow’s clash due to an ankle injury that has kept him out for the last four games.
