Still No Debut! Chiefs Signing On His Injury Nightmare
Kabelo Mahlasela Is Still Waiting For His Kaizer Chiefs Debut
Kabelo Mahlasela may have signed for Kaizer Chiefs three months ago, but the talented attacker is still awaiting his debut in the gold and black due to an injury nightmare.
The 27-year-old made the move from Bloemfontein Celtic back in January to much fanfare from the Amakhosi faithful, however, was hit with a dose of bad luck as he picked up a knee injury during one of his first training sessions that required him to have surgery.
Now, with just three games left of the Absa Premiership season, the attacker is looking to try and make his debut before the campaign comes to an end, insisting that he’s ‘getting better’ at every session.
He told the club’s official website, “I was frustrated because of not being able to play, but the tremendous support I got from my family and friends helped a lot. I am glad to be at a club that has the kind of medical care as Chiefs have… I feel good because I am getting better every time at training. My confidence is returning as well.
“I don’t know how it will be when I get into match situations, but I will be ready when the time comes.”
Mahlasela hasn’t got long to make his mark at the team this season, although it is expected for him to play a much heavier role in the 2018/19 campaign once he is back to full fitness and firing on all cylinders once again.
