The skilful player, who was last on the books of Malanti Chiefs in Swaziland in 2013, confirmed his imminent signing with the third tier club as their player and assistant coach.
“I have reached an agreement with the chairman of Ngwaabe City Motors to join his club. This past weekend, the chairman invited me to his club in order to give a motivational speech to the players. It turns out that I am one of the players he liked from my time playing for Kaizer Chiefs and he has asked me to join his club. The team just got promoted to the ABC Motsepe League,” said Khanye. “I am joining the club as player and assistant coach. I am 34 years old and I still want to play football. This move might open doors for me for a return to the PSL. I am grateful to the chairman for this opportunity and I am looking forward to helping the youngsters in the team,” the midfielder added.
Ngwaabe chairman Kgajane David Masha confirmed Khanye’s imminent deal with the newly promoted club.
“It’s true that he is joining us. He is joining us as a player and will also be our assistant coach. This young guy was one of my favourite players when he was still playing for Kaizer Chiefs. Things didn’t go well for him as he was still young at the time and made some mistakes. I have decided to give him a second chance. He is older now and has learnt from his mistakes. He will help the youngsters in the team by warning them that if they don’t look out for themselves in a proper manner they might find themselves in trouble,” said Masha.
