Josephs Back At Training

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs is back at training with the rest of his teammates. Josephs has been troubled by a shoulder injury this season, which had forced him onto the sidelines.

The latest news coming out of the Bucs camp is that the 32-year-old shot-stopper has been declared fit by Pirates’ medical team and been allowed to resume training with the rest of the first team.

Pirates’ physiotherapist, John Williams, told the club’s official website that Josephs is ready to train with his teammates.

“It was a recurring injury he had, but it was nothing serious. He is back at training and everything else is in the hands of the technical team. From our side, he is injury free,” said Williams.

Josephs has made six league starts this season, to date, with Senzo Meyiwa having taken over between the sticks, under the leadership of coach Roger de Sa. Meyiwa is part of coach Gordon Igesund’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad, and is in camp preparing for the tournament.

It was reported in issue 803 of Soccer-Laduma that Josephs is expected to stay with the defending league champions until the end of the season, following the speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
