A Black Leopards playmaker has commented on the interest in his services coming from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Joseph Mhlongo has been linked with an exit from Leopards for quite some time now, with the player recently confirming to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, that his contract issue with the club is yet to be resolved.
The 29-year-old is nearing the end of his deal with the Limpopo-based side and in the past months, the Siya crew reported that both Chiefs and Pirates were showing interest in the player at some stage.
In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma this week, when asked about the reported interest in his services from Chiefs and Pirates, here’s what Mhlongo had to say:
“I read about that, but they have not spoken to me about it. Maybe they are speaking to my agent, I don’t know. I don’t really like reading these stories from the media because they can mess up one’s mind, but unfortunately kunabantu (there are people) who always send me these reports. Uyazi into zebhola (You know football things).

“There’s nothing I can do, as I do not have control over who writes what about me. I might stay, I might not stay at Leopards, like I said. Nothing has been confirmed but, at the end of the day, it’s all part of football. The break because of the lockdown has also delayed things, but we will see what will happen,” he said.
Mhlongo also discussed:
- His current situation at Black Leopards
- Interest in his services from Highlands Park
- The possibility of a salary cut at the club during the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown
