Chiefs Confirm Argentine Arrival
Jonatan Philippe Has Begun Training With Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the arrival of Argentinian striker, Jonatan Philippe after he began work at Naturena earlier today.
The Siya crew reported yesterday that the 29-year-old was due to begin his assessment with Chiefs today once the players returned to training following their trip to Botswana, and that has proven to be correct as he was photographed in Amakhosi gear.
Philippe is currently a free agent after leaving Agrotikos Asteras at the end of last season, with the former Boca Juniors man coming to South Africa on the back of scoring nine goals in 34 games in 2016/17.
Steve Komphela will now be taking a look at the South American in the coming days, alongside two other trialists, Darren Lurie and Arnaldo Gomes.
Chiefs confirmed Philippe’s presence with a tweet on Tuesday, explaining that he is ‘undergoing medicals and assessment’ at the club following his arrival.
