Orlando Pirates legend Jomo Sono says that Bucs are not under pressure going into Saturday’s crucial CAF Champions League tie against AC Leopards, away from home.
A win for the Buccaneers would massively boost their chances of progressing to the semi-finals of the competition and ‘Mjomana’ believes that they can reach the next stage.
The last time Pirates won the cup was back in 1995 and the club’s chairman, Irvin Khoza, has made no secret of the fact that he wants a second star.
Sono told the Siya crew, “They are on a high. They’ll win. They are not under pressure and they are on top of the log. The one who’s under pressure is the one who wants to go to the top and, you know, it’s more difficult to climb a mountain."
He continued, "It’s easier ukulwa uhlale lapha entabeni, makathi uyakhuphuka umkhahlele izandla ehle angafiki (to fight when you’re on top of the mountain, then when your opponent tries to reach you, you hit him on his hands so that he goes back down). So they are under tremendous pressure, not Pirates.”
