Platinum Stars and their head coach, Cavin Johnson, are currently at loggerheads after he handed his resignation.
It was revealed last week that Johnson could be on the verge of joining SuperSport United following the departure of Gavin Hunt, and it seems that his resignation could push him even closer to taking over.
According to a Soccer-Laduma source Johnson handed in his letter of resignation to the club last week, although he has not yet been released from his contract as the two parties are currently trying to agree on the details surrounding the matter.
It is no secret that Johnson is unwanted at Dikwena, whose management are thought to be eager to install Allan Freeze as their head coach for next season.
While it remains to be seen whether Johnson’s resignation has a direct link with the vacant position at Matsatsantsa, he has certainly poured petrol onto the fire of speculation naming him as Hunt's successor.
