Platinum Stars head coach, Cavin Johnson, has just left a meeting with the club’s board in which he has reaffirmed his desire to leave the Phokeng-based outfit.
The Siya crew revealed earlier today that Dikwena had rejected the coach’s resignation from the club and expected him to report for pre-season training this month, despite Johnson citing family reasons as his motive for leaving.
Today he called a meeting between himself, the board and the chairman of Stars to once again request to leave, informing them that his heart was not longer with the club and to once again say that he no longer wants to be there.
Now the decision lies with Stars as to whether they let Johnson leave the club, however, considering the fine job that he did last season, it would make sense for them to shake hands and send him on his way rather than keep a disgruntled coach in charge at the helm of their outfit.
At this stage it is not known if Johnson’s plea to be released will be granted or not, Soccer-Laduma will post any more updates that come our way.
