Johannes Bids Farewell To Cape Town City
Cape Town City captain Robyn Johannes ended victorious in his final game for the club, against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, to sign off in style.
The defender is set to join Bidvest Wits next season after signing a pre-contract back in January.
Johannes picked up a booking against the Buccaneers on Saturday and will now miss the final game of the season, making Saturday's encounter his last for the Cape Town club.
“Oh, I didn’t know I’m suspended [for the final game of the season], so it’s the last game for the club [Cape Town City]. I’m grateful for everything they have done for me for the last two years we want to try and finish as high as we can. I think this is a great club with a great future. All the best for them for next season," Johannes told SuperSport after the game.
“Sadly my journey [at Cape Town City] comes to an end but the fans every single week they made me bring my “A” game.
"It’s family and friends in the stands every week all I wanted to do was to perform at the best of my abilities. I did that for the last two years I’m thankful to the Almighty I haven’t really been injured in the last two years, I’ve played a lot of football and I’m grateful for that. Great club, great fans."
