Jeremy Brockie could have a change of fate at Mamelodi Sundowns after it was revealed that his immediate future was up in the air.
As reported in October by the Siya crew, Brockie’s immediate future at Sundowns was set to be discussed, should his situation with the Brazilians have remained unchanged.
“If he doesn’t get game-time in the next month or so, I will be sitting down with Sundowns to discuss a way forward,” the player’s representative, Mike Makaab told Soccer Laduma at the time.
Brockie, however, recently broke his goal drought in Downs' win over Free State Stars and has featured in the starting line-up in the Brazilians’ previous two league encounters, with indications that the New Zealand international may be finally finding his feet with the Chloorkop-based club.
“It’s been difficult since I arrived. I haven’t been featuring in the team in the last couple of months. Mentally I had to stay strong and keep myself fit so that when the opportunity comes, I had to make sure that I made the most of it,” Brockie told Sundowns’ official website earlier in November.
“Now that the first one is out of the way in a competitive game, hopefully they’ll start flowing a little bit more and I can keep my place in the starting XI so that I can help this club go into the top of the table where we belong,” he added.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Brockie will keep his place in the starting line-up, as the Brazilians look to climb further up the Absa Premiership league standings and begin their campaign in the CAF Champions League this month.
