Musa Nyatama netted against his former side as the Buccaneers registered a 1-0 at the Dr Molemela Stadium.
"We knew that it was going to be a tough game for us as we said before Orlando Pirates are one of the best teams in the country," Jelusic told SuperSport after the game.
"They play very attractive, very creative football, with a lot of changes in space. They're a very dynamic team. It was not easy to control them but we tried our best.
"We had one or two chances to score unfortunately we didn't. They scored the chance they had and so congratulations to them."
The Serbian born coach concluded by saying that his side will be fully focused for the Telkom Knockout Final against Bidvest Wits next weekend.
"We're fully focused on that game, we will prepare as best as we can and we will give our best to win this match."
