City Target Improved Fitness In 2018 With New Signing
Japhet Borges Earmarked To Improve Polokwane City's Fitness
The signing of former Orlando Pirates fitness trainer Japhet Borges has signalled Polokwane City’s ambition for the new year.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Rise and Shine Communications Manager, Vusi Mthimane, said the signing of the Brazilian heralds the club’s aspirations to improving on the club’s performances during the second leg of the league campaign.
“Our ambition is to elevate our performances and to be more dynamic in all the games we play,” Mthimane told Soccer Laduma.
“If you look at the way we have played so far this season we have done well in terms of creating chances, however, where we have lacked at times has been in our fitness levels which have let us down.
“Mr Borges brings years of experience to the team having plied his trade at all levels in South African football. We believe his arrival at Polokwane City will help our players and we can’t wait for our supporters to see the difference in our players,” added Mthimane.
The new fitness trainer will have his work cut out form him in preparing the Limpopo-based outfit in taking on Mamelodi Sundowns when the two teams clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The match is scheduled to start at 15h30.
