Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, who has been out injured, is set to recover in January.
The Ga-Mphahlele-born defender has not made much impact for Sundowns this season and has been dogged by injuries in his career. He suffered a hip-related injury after colliding with teammate Rodney Ramagalela and was set to see an orthopedic surgeon last week.
According to the Siya crew sources, Mphahlele is expected to return to action only early next year. The source added that his absence is one of the reasons the club are targeting Thabo Nthethe to bolster their defence, as Wayne Arendse is the only cover in the central defensive position.
The 23-year-old player is highly-rated by Pitso Mosimane, who brought him back from a loan spell at University of Pretoria in January, and will be keen to fully recover and fight for a position in Sundowns starting eleven.
