Kaizer Chiefs management are believed to have held talks with potential signing, James Keene, regarding a possible short-term deal at Naturena until the end of the season.
Keene, 29, trained with the Amakhosi throughout the course of last week as Stuart Baxter continues his search for a striker, and it appears that he impressed during his brief spell at the club.
Now, with the player having left South Africa in case he needs to apply for a work permit from his own country, Baxter says that the matter has now been handed over to the Glamour Boys’ management.
The Chiefs head coach said, “He did well while he was here but it’s too early to make any statements. The matter is now with the club’s management.”
Should the Amakhosi wish to pursue the signature of the hard-working forward, then they will have to move swiftly given that there are only seven league games left to play and he will require a work permit before he can be registered with the PSL.
