English striker, James Keene, begins his trial at Kaizer Chiefs today after landing in South Africa over the weekend.
The Siya crew revealed last week that the 29-year-old forward was on the radar of the Amakhosi, and that he was set to fly into Mzansi this week in an attempt to prove to Stuart Baxter and his technical team that he is deserving of a contract.
Now Siya crew sources in Europe have revealed that the former Portsmouth and Elfsborg striker will begin his trial today, though it remains to be seen how long he will be given to impress.
Keene, who most recently played for NorthEast United in the Indian Super League, is currently a free agent at present, meaning that he is available to sign at any stage should Chiefs decide to offer him a deal.
The burly striker could be seen as a direct replacement for Kingston Nkhatha, who left Naturena in January for SuperSport United.
Having scored over 30 goals during his time in Sweden, the Amakhosi fans will be hoping that, should be pass his trial, he can help aid their scoring problems going into the business end of the 2014/15 season.
Swedish giants, IFK Goteborg, had wanted to sign the forward earlier this month, however he reportedly decided to try things out at Naturena before making a decision on his future.
