Orlando Pirates have confirmed that midfielder Andile Jali will undergo an operation on his shoulder and is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks.
Soccer-Laduma confirmed yesterday that the midfield maestro would go for a scan to reveal the full extent of his injury.
Jali injured his shoulder during Bucs’ midweek 1-0 win over Absa Premiership to PSL new boys, Polokwane City. Pirates secured all three points courtesy of a Rooi Mahamutsa strike.
Bucs have now confirmed on the club’s official website that Jali will miss the team’s vital CAF Champions League clash against Al Ahly on Sunday, after he underwent an x-ray which revealed a tear on the muscle.
Club doctor Thabiso Mmoledi told orlandopiratesfc.com, “Jali cannot play with the injury he is carrying. He has a bad tear on the muscle on his shoulder which will require an operation. He will see an orthopaedic surgeon this week for the operation on his shoulder. It should take him up to six weeks to recover.”
