Milano United midfielder, Nazier Jacobs, says he and his teammates were excited at the opportunity to play against Bafana Bafana.
Bafana beat the NFD side 1-0 on Tuesday, in a game which Gordon Igesund used to prepare his side for the African Nations Championship’s (CHAN) opener against Mozambique.

The game was played behind closed doors. In a statement received by the Siya crew, Jacobs shared his experience of the high-profile friendly game against the South African national team.
“The players were very excited to play Bafana because it’s good preparations as the derby game is coming up. The game was very competitive and I think the players were all excited for the experience to play against Bafana,” Jacobs said after the game.
“For me personally it was a good experience playing against guys that are playing at a higher level,” Jacobs added.
The midfield maestro believes that the preparations for this weekends’ derby against FC Cape Town is going very well so far, and that the players are pushing hard.
“I think it’s going to be a tough battle against FC Cape Town with lots of tackles. I believe in my players and if they believe in themselves then I think we can win the game,” he concluded.
Bafana’s opener against Mozambique will be played at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
