Ex-Buccaneer Takes Aim At Chiefs
Jacky Motshegwa Is Taking Aim At Kaizer Chiefs
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Jacky Motshegwa, is taking aim at Kaizer Chiefs this weekend, with Bloemfontein Celtic targeting a ‘sumptuous display’ from Siwelele.
The Glamour Boys travel to the Free State this weekend to take on Celtic in the annual Macufe Cup tournament, and Motshegwa is eager to make sure that there isn’t a repeat of last year’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Amakhosi.
The 29-year-old joined Celtic at the start of the season, playing all six games as last season’s relegation battlers lost just one of their opening matches in the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season.
Now, with Celtic taking on Chiefs on Sunday afternoon at Free State Stadium, he’s eager to keep that ‘winning mentality’ going and build on their recent win over Bidvest Wits.
He told Siwelele’s official website “Last season’s performance was dismal and unfair to multitudes of our supporters who converged at the stadium… That must be rectified with a splendid brand of football complimented with goals. We are the hosts and are expected to produce a sumptuous display, keeping the momentum and subsequently reclaiming what belongs to us.
“We are wary of Chiefs, however, our preparations have been extensive and everyone wants to play with determination because there is no friendly game between the two teams. Collectively, we have been working towards building a winning mentality and the Macufe Cup will help us continue the trend.”
The game is due to start at 15h00.
