On-loan Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper, Jackson Mabokgwane, tells the Siya crew that he will be meeting with the management of Wits to discuss his future with the club.
Mabokgwane spent last season on loan at AmaZayoni, where he did well for the Clive Barker-led side, even taking over the number jersey from Bafana Nhlapo at one stage.
“I was supposed to have met the Wits management last week, but they had prior engagements and I was also going away on holiday, so that meeting failed to materialise. We’ll meet this week and hopefully everything will be finalised in that meeting with regards to my future,” he told the Siya crew.
Following his impressive season, Aces have indicated that they would like to keep Mabokgwane, and the player is also willing to stay with the club. However, as reported by the Siya crew, Wits are likely to recall him after Mamelodi Sundowns indicated that they want Dennis Onyango back. Onyango spent last season on loan at Wits.
Meanwhile, according to sources, Wits are keen to keep Onyango, and are currently in negotiations with Sundowns about the Ugandan goalkeeper.
If Wits manage to convince Sundowns to keep Onyango, that could open a door for Mabokgwane to sign a permanent contract with Aces.
