Jabu ‘Shuffle’ Mahlangu is on course to unearth untapped football talent from around South Africa in his new role.
The retired footballer, whose one role among the various he is busy with is being that of television analyst, is part of a football scouting initiative for aspiring U15 footballers from around the country at schools level.
“Jabu is enjoying the role. He has had different roles with different projects over the years, but this new one for him gives him pleasure as it gives him the opportunity of unearthing raw talent from different backgrounds and different provinces countrywide,” the 38-year-old's brother, Tseki Pule said in edition 1088 of Soccer Laduma.
“The role gives him a chance to work with youngsters and to teach them that football is not only about what’s happening on the field of play but many other aspects of life like discipline and how one deals with being a professional. He gets the opportunity to motivate the youngsters,” added Pule.
“As the family, we are happy for Jabu. The guy is focused on his work and his discipline should be commended. His family is happy for him and we thank God for him. He is in our prayers. The family acknowledge people like Stan Matthews from SuperSport United, who have played a big role in helping Jabu to be where he is today. They are happy that he never let them down,” concluded Pule.
