Jabu Mahlangu looks set to come out of retirement, after supposedly being handed a second-chance by Cavin Johnson and SuperSport United.
Mahlangu, who burst onto the scenes as a teenager for Kaizer Chiefs a decade and a half ago and was known as Jabu Pule, has supposedly been invited to join SuperSport's training by Johnson, and is believed to be undergoing intensive training to regain his fitness.
Mahlangu had a troublesome career off the pitch, but was undoubtedly one of the most talented players in South Africa, and was once described by Muhsin Ertugral as the most talented youngster he had ever seen.
When Ertugral left Kaizer Chiefs he coached SV Mattersburg in Austria, and Mahlangu was one of the players he took with him.
Mahlangu previously played for SuperSport from 2005 to 2007, and also had spells at Orlando Pirates, Osters IF, Platinum Stars and FC Cape Town. He also made twenty appearances for Bafana Bafana.
At 33, 'Shuffle' is no longer a young man, but that maturity may make all the difference if this comeback is to work out.
