Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, has trained today following his injury over the weekend, and is expected to be fit for Saturday’s game with Township Rollers.
The 27-year-old had to be stretchered off the field during the second half of the Amakhosi’s 4-0 Nedbank Cup win over Edu Sports this weekend, and it was feared that he may face another spell on the sidelines.
However, the player has since revealed that he has been given the all clear following x-rays, and the Siya crew can confirm that he trained today ahead of Chiefs’ trip to Botswana later this week.
Stuart Baxter’s side is set to face Rollers in the CAF Champions League on Saturday afternoon and build on their 2-1 lead from the first leg of the tie as they seek a place in the next round of the competition.
Khune is expected to make the trip to Botswana when Chiefs leave on Friday and should be able to take his place between the sticks for Baxter’s side on Saturday afternoon.
