The Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper was again in fine form as he did his best to keep Iraq at bay, however his performance in the 1-1 was not enough to stop Owen da Gama’s side being eliminated without a single win to their name.
After the game, clearly upset by the reaction of fans and the media back home, the 29-year-old hit out on his personal Twitter account before later deleting the tweet.
Khune said, “Some people don’t appreciate out there. If u think u can do a better job than most of us, u better come out and play. haai maan. Nxn.”
South Africa’s male and female sides managed just one goal and no wins between from six games at Rio 2016 as they both fell at the first hurdle.
