News reaching the Siya crew is that AmaZulu midfielder Mohammed-Awal Issah has gone AWOL and is back in Ghana.
The Ghanaian last played for Usuthu when he came on as a substitute for Njabulo Manqana in the 1-1 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on November 10.
According to a source at AmaZulu, Issah’s whereabouts are unknown to the players.
“We don’t know where the guy is because he hasn’t been training with us. Maybe the team manager or any of the guys in the office would know,” said the source.
Issah has been unsettled since his return to AmaZulu this season. The player missed a few games already this season, when he was granted permission to return to Ghana.
The KZN club told the Siya crew at the time that Issah had gone to attend to personal issues back home in West Africa, while it was rumoured that he had gone AWOL.
According to a different source at AmaZulu, the technical team and the management of the side are disappointed with the player’s latest act.
Issah has made two starts for AmaZulu so far in the 2013/14 campaign. AmaZulu communications manager Philani Mabaso recently told the Siya crew that the player was injured, while Usuthu team manager Japhet Zwane has now said that Issah has gone to Ghana again to 'sort personal issues.'
