International Friendly

Result: Tunisia U23 2-1 South Africa U23

Date: 07 September 2015

The South Africa U23 side lost 2-1 to their Tunisian counterparts in an international friendly on Monday evening, as they continue their preparations for the 8 Nations tournament.

Keagan Dolly, who captained South Africa on the day, tried his luck from a set piece, but his effort sailed just wide of the target in the early stages.

The hosts went ahead inside the opening 10 minutes when Saâd Bguir popped up with the opening goal from a set-piece.

The score remained the same for most of the opening stanza, while Menzi Masuku had his curling free-kick saved by the Tunisian goalkeeper in the 43rd minute.

Jody February the came to the South African's rescue just before the halftime break, pulling off a fine save to ensure the score remains 1-0 at the break.

Owen Da Gama decided to change things at the start of the second half and brought on Siphelele Ntshangase for Khaya Shozi.

However, the home side doubled their advantage after 60 minutes after a defensive error from Da Gama's side.

South Africa did have the ball in the back of net in the 80th minute but Zaid Patel's header was flagged for offside.

The visitors managed to reduce the deficit in the 90th minute courtesy of a free-kick from skipper, Keagan Dolly.
