Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, could be out for a few weeks due to a hip injury he picked up in a friendly against Wits.
Sundowns’ medical team is expected to reassess the defender on Monday and advise on the extent of his injury.
“The player got injured in a friendly game against Wits on Friday last week. He will be seeing the doctors on Monday and be advised on whether he is going to be out for a long time or not. But the injury isn’t that bad because there is no fracture or anything like that,” a source at Sundowns told the Siya crew.
Mphahlele is hoping to return to training sooner rather than later, as he looks to break into Pitso Mosimane's starting eleven.
Rama, as the versatile defender is known in football circles, has made one substitute appearance in the league for Sundowns so far this season.
