In This Week's Edition Of Soccer Laduma

In anticipation of this week's edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included in issue number 904. The latest edition will be out on the shelves tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14.

Orlando Pirates midterm report card – Soccer Laduma takes a closer look at the Parktown-based club’s performances in the first half of the season.

In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma we closely analyse Eric Tinkler’s team and what each player brings to the team so far this season. Where are they lacking? Where are they covered?

Get yourself a copy of what should be Tinkler’s report to the club’s chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza, on the team’s performance if he were to be called in by the ‘Iron Duke’.

Afcon Preview – It is the 2015 Afcon time! As the continent awaits the start of the 2015 Equatorial Guinea edition of the African Cup of Nations, we analyse the four groups to see who the favourites are. What are the expectations on the 16 teams going into this continental showpiece? How did they get to the tournament?

Soccer Laduma previews the much-anticipated biennial tournament in this week’s edition of the paper.

Afcon panel of experts – In addition to the Afcon preview, Soccer Laduma’s panel of experts, John Moeti, Mark Williams, Edward Motale and David Nyathi share their views on the upcoming tournament and also share their predictions.

The members of the Afcon-conquering class of ’96 will be keeping you informed with their analyses throughout the tournament. In their first analyses, the four legends talk about the tournament favourites, players to looks out for, Bafana’s chances of doing well and their groups as well as other topics.

Don’t miss this exciting edition of Soccer Laduma as we prepare ourselves for what should be an exciting Afcon.

Thuso Phala – After failing to make Shakes Mashaba’s squad during the qualifying campaign, Thuso Phala has managed to ‘force’ his way into the Bafana Bafana set-up just in time for the Afcon.

In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Phalafala as Phala is affectionately known, talks about his surprise inclusion in the team. He also opens up about working with club and former Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund.

In his frank interview, Phala also talks about the past weekend’s friendly match against Cameroon, what to expect against Mali tomorrow (Wednesday) as well as the importance of getting a good result against Algeria in the opening match.

Ivan Bukenya – The Kaizer Chiefs utility player has been unable to break into coach Stuart Baxter’s starting line-up since joining the club last season but in the few games that he’s been given a chance, the Ugandan tall defender-cum-midfielder has proved his worth.

It was until the recent injury to Willard Katsande that the Amakhosi faithful finally managed to get a closer look at the player and if the reaction to his displays is anything to go by, Bukenya may have just won the supporters’ hearts.

In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Bukenya talks about the frustration of sitting on the side lines. He also addresses the question marks around his age.

Mamelodi Sundowns poster – We also have a Mamelodi Sundowns team poster.

There’s also a lot of Siyagobhoza stories to look forward to.
