In This Week's Edition of Soccer Laduma

In anticipation of this week's edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included in issue number 891. The latest edition will be out on the shelves tomorrow, Wednesday, October 1.

Helder Pelembe – The almost forgotten Orlando Pirates striker remains optimistic at his chances of getting regular game-time under coach Vladimir Vermezovic despite the rich vein of form enjoyed by fellow striker favourites, Kermit Erasmus and Lehlohonolo Majoro.

In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Pelembe opens up about his situation at Pirates. He also talks about the competition he is faced with, and the team’s performances so far this season.

Boebie Solomons – The former Polokwane City coach was axed after five games in the new season!

In his interview in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Solomons talks about his axing at the club. He also reveals why he found the club’s decision to relieve him of his duties surprising.

The former Santos mentor didn’t stay out of the game for long, as National First Division side, Cape Town All Stars came knocking for his services a few days after losing his PSL job.

Vera Pauw – The Banyana Banyana coach has been enjoying a really good run since taking over the reigns from South African football legend, Joseph Mkhonza.

Pauw is busy preparing her team for the CAF African Women’s Championships, and in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, she talks about being in the competition’s ‘Group of Death’ where they will be facing teams like Cameroon, Algeria and Ghana.

She also reveals why she chose to come to South Africa.

Bernard Parker – The Kaizer Chiefs striker is back following a long-term ankle injury that saw him miss the team’s pre-season and a couple of the season-opening fixtures.

In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Parker talks about his return, the form displayed by George Maluleka, George Lebese and Mandla Masango in his and Siphiwe Tshabalala’s absence due to injuries.

The former Thanda Royal Zulu striker also talks about the team’s good start to the new season and the challenge of maintaining that good run of form.

Telkom Knockout preview – We take a look at the upcoming Telkom Knockout last 16 round where the Big Three have avoided each other and look set to make it through to the next round, barring an upset or two.

David Zulu – After scoring a wonder solo goal against Orlando Pirates last weekend, the Chippa United striker reveals how both Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates turned him down. He also talks about his Bafana Bafana call-ups from Shakes Mashaba and the reason he only broke to the PSL so late in his career.

Who does he credit for his professional football? Get this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma and read the Revolving Column to get Zulu’s mini interview.

There’s also a lot of Siyagobhoza stories to look forward to.
