In anticipation of this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1081, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet tomorrow, Wednesday, July 11.

Eden Hazard and Luka Modric posters

The semi-final of the FIFA World Cup begins tonight (Tuesday, July 10). Soccer Laduma has provided our footballing community with some memorable scenes from the tournament with two posters of Belgium’s Eden Hazard and Croatia’s Luka Modric.

Tshepo Masilela interview

Earlier this month, Tsepo Masilela’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs came to an end, which then led to the 32-year-old ending his relationship with a club that he had won four titles with. Masilela goes through his journey with Soccer Laduma’s Shaistah Kader.

Orlando Pirates feature

Orlando Pirates have added in some firepower into their squad ahead of the 2018/19 season. Taking a deeper look into the club’s midfield, they have added two options on the wings and one in attack, giving the technical team nine options for about two or three spots behind the lone striker. Soccer Laduma investigates how these players will be used.

The success that former Mamelodi Sundowns central defender, Thabo Nthethe has attained over the years is second-to-none. ‘Mr Cool’, as the player is known in football circles, saw his career move from captaining Bloemfontein Celtic to steering the ship at Chloorkop. However, coming to the latter stages of his tenure at Downs, the 33-year-old found himself short of game-time. Now at Chippa United, the defender seeks to bring in his experience to the club as he tells Soccer Laduma’s Celine Abrahams.

Gift Links interview

19-year-old Bafana Bafana international, Gift Links has returned from his six-month stint in Egypt. The former Platinum Stars development player is one for the future with a good head on his shoulders and his exceptional talent. Cape Town City head coach, Benni McCarthy is very fond of the young star which ultimately led to Links deciding to ply his trade at the Mother City-based side. Soccer Laduma’s Celine Abrahams welcomes the ‘Lion’ back to South Africa.
