Bafana Bafana head coach Gordon Igesund will be meeting Orlando Pirates’ Administrative Manager, Floyd Mbele, this morning to discuss the situation surrounding the Bucs players called up to the South African squad for the Nelson Mandela Challenge.
Siya crew sources have indicated that Igesund spoke to coach Roger de Sa on Wednesday night and will meet Mbele this morning, prior to the press conference called by SAFA later on, at 11:00.
Igesund has named six Buccaneers in his Bafana squad for the clash against Nigeria at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on August 14, which does fall under an official FIFA date, however Pirates play Zamalek in the CAF Champions League only three days later.
The six Pirates players are Senzo Meyiwa, Thabo Matlaba, Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa, Thandani Ntshumayelo and Daine Klate.
De Sa has already admitted that he hopes to have his full squad available in preparation of the Champions League clash with the Egyptians, as the Soweto giants aim for continental glory.
Igesund is expected to publicly address the issue at SAFA House his morning, at 11:00, at the press conference called by SAFA.
