Despite not qualifying for the final round of African FIFA World Cup qualifying, coach Gordon Igesund says that the Bafana Bafana squad is high in morale ahead of tonight’s international friendly.
Bafana host Zimbabwe at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on the back of a convincing 4-1 victory over Botswana, having overcome The Zebras at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend in a Group A World Cup qualifier.
With Ethiopia having topped the group, the East African progressed to the final round of qualifying at the expense of Bafana, however Igesund is looking forward with a positive aspect.
The coach said that although it is disappointing that they could not qualify for the last round of the World Cup qualifiers, the players are motivated for the clash against The Warriors.
“The players are playing for their country and they are motivated for the Zimbabwe game. They know all the games we play are important and this one is no different.
“We will have almost a different team as the internationals and Orlando Pirates players (except for Kermit Erasmus) are not here, so the ones here will be looking to do the right thing and that's what motivates them,” said Igesund.
