Gordon Igesund is on a mission to lead Bafana Bafana to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, with the head coach facing his toughest test to date on Sunday.
Bafana will be hosted by Ethiopia, who currently lead Group A in CAF’s World Cup qualifying rounds, in Addis Ababa, where victory will see South Africa go top of the group.
Igesund said that the players are in high spirit ahead of the game at the National Stadium in Addis Ababa and that the team is growing in confidence with each game they play.
“The morale in the team is high and that's what we need at this point. The spirit among the players is high and they are willing to go out there and win the game.
“I have always said that we wanted to win against CAR but that the most important game is the one against Ethiopia and that's what we want to do today.
“We need the three points and that's all we need and we have to fight for that,” the four-time PSL title winning coach said.
