Bafana head coach Gordon Igesund has heaped praise on Racing Genk’s South African right back, Anele Ngcongca, after he played his 200th game for his club.
The Siya crew reported last week that the 25-year-old made his 200th appearance for the club in the recent 0-0 draw with Waasland-Beveren. He is only the fourth player in the club’s history to reach this milestone.
Igesund, who has consistently picked Ngcongca in his starting eleven since taking charge of Bafana, didn’t hold back in his congratulations to the defender on his impressive achievement.
Speaking to the crew, Igesund said, “Both Safa and myself want to congratulate Anele on being one of only four players to play 200 games for Genk. At just 25, it’s a huge milestone for him and I want to say well done, to reach that milestone at his level is a big achievement and I hope he keeps going from strength to strength.”
If Ngcongca, who has been linked with a number of big European clubs over the last year or so, keeps up his fine form, we could see him plying his trade at a bigger club in the near future.
