Igesund Expects An Open Clash

On Saturday Bafana Bafana take on Mali at the quarter-final stage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, and coach Gordon Igesund says that he could change his approach.

The coach said that they absorbed a lot of pressure in their 2-2 draw against Morocco, and  expects Mali to play a different game. He believes that the game against Mali will be open.

He admitted that Mali’s physical presence will be a factor to consider, and will tactically prepare around that.

“They have tall players both in attack and in defence, so we have to change things a bit to play a game that we can attack without using high balls. We also have to contain them in high balls when they attack.

“We will play an open game as both teams will be looking for a win. It will be interesting to see and I think it will be a good game," Igesund concluded.
