Hunt: We Gave Them Two Goals
After witnessing his side capitulate, Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt believes they sent Mamelodi Sundowns on their way by giving them two goals in the first half.
The Clever Boys suffered defeat for the second straight Absa Premiership game after going down 2-0 to the Brazilians on Saturday evening.
“I thought we gave them two goals. The same player made the mistakes outside the box so we gave them a start and you can’t give a team like this a start like that,” Hunt told SuperSport after the game.
“Second half, we were much better, more competitive. Had a couple of moments where we should’ve done better and didn’t and with the crowd behind them they are a force,” he added.
Having lost in midweek, Hunt is gutted they have failed to pick up any points in both their away games this week, having also lost to Ajax Cape Town last time out.
“It was always going to be tough. We tried to get something out of both away games and got nothing out of both. We have been good away from home this year surprisingly," the coach added.
“I thought we deserved a point here because we were a much better side. There were some moments where we could’ve done better and didn’t. But they are a better side and I can’t hold my head up,” he said.
