How Sundowns Perform Without Tau And Billiat

How Mamelodi Sundowns Have Done Without Percy Tau And Khama Billiat

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 19, 2018 04:02 PM

Mamelodi Sundowns are set to adjust to life without Percy Tau and Khama Billiat and Soccer Laduma takes a look at the number of games that the team has lost when without the duo’s services.

Sundowns have made four signings ahead of the new season so far, adding attacking players such as Toni Silva, Jose Ali Meza and Lyle Lakay, while bolstering their midfield with Andile Jali.

However, despite adding the needed cover to prepare for Billiat’s absence and Tau’s departure, the Brazilians are yet to adjust to not having those two skilful playmakers in the squad.

Tau played in every single Absa Premiership encounter in the 2017/18, where the Brazilians went on to lift the Absa Premiership trophy.

However, the 24-year-old’s absence was indeed felt during their previous CAF Champions League encounter, where the Brazilians were without both Billiat and Tau, suffering a 1-0 loss to AS Togo Port.

On the other hand, there have been several domestic encounters that the Brazilians have lost without Billiat in their setup, including double losses to Polokwane City, a loss to AmaZulu FC and Orlando Pirates, an indication that the Zimbabwean has been influential to their success when fit.

Despite signing Meza and Silva, the duo is yet to make their debut in the Ka Bo Yellow colours, with indications that Sundowns may want to add more to their squad to finally find replacements for Tau and Billiat.

Sundowns has quality, i do not think they will struggle. If Tony Silva live up to my expectation together With Serino they will make magic. I do not want to comment much about Maeza and there is Zwane we know what is capable of. Beside they lost good players before and won CAF after Zungu left, the league after Dolly n Castro from the deadly CBD left.

A team is not made up of two players. The Brazilians have lost even better players before, but they still went on to win trophies. Remember Lerato Chabangu, Godfrey Sapula, Josta Dladla, Roger Feutmba, Ernest Chirwali, TV 4 Choeu, Cedrick Nakhumwa, Harold Lekgodi.... The list is endless. Despite losing those great players Down are still a household name in South African football. Let Tau and Billiat go they were true professionals. They served the Yellow Submarine with distinction. We will unearth other gems to fill the void they left.

Guys I know we love our teams and defend them even when there are problems. The reporter is right the sooner you identify the problem the better. Look at chiefs, the problem was they took too long to realise they need to sign good quality players and that contributed to us spending 3 seasons without a trophy, making history ever. Tau and Billiat are out and that is going to hurt downs, fact, Live with it.

Last season and the season after Billiat was always injured but we managed to win Caf and the league. What makes you think that we can struggle now.only a clueless fool like u and stupid supporters can think that.It is still early for that.We lost many players before and we still going to loose players.

@majenz : I refuse to let hatred towards other teams/people cloud my mind therefore I will never badmouth other clubs without valid reasons, neither will I provoke others just to please you or other bloggers. Here I was expressing my view that Sundowns are capable of replacing Billiat and Tau of which you also know it's true.I still believe I did not offend you or anyone and disrespecting me like that by calling me names will not change the way I think either.

They both contributed immensely towards Sundowns success and will be missed if not replaced properly

Wena cowditor you need to understand that players come and go but big clubs remain unmoved.Dunu will certainly find relevant replacements to fill the void left by those departured players.Infact you shouldn't have brought that question to discussion because we all know that Dunu will cross that bridge without experiencing any obstacles.
