Pretoria Callies coach Joel Masutha says he did not think twice when he heard that a Kaizer Chiefs striker was available to sign on loan for the season.
Teenage forward Keletso Sifama joined GladAfrica Championship outfit Callies for the campaign, along with 21-year-old teammate Thabo Mokoena. Masutha is delighted to have both players on board and, even though they are young, the coach believes they can have a huge role to play in their pursuit for automatic promotion this season.
“I used to watch them when they were playing in the MDC. Remember Sifama was in the first team, but the first time I saw that he has got quality was in the Shell Helix Cup, when Chiefs were playing against Sundowns. He did very well that day. When I heard that he is available, I did not think twice,” Masutha tells the Siya crew.
"Actually, in a meeting, I even spoke about Sifama before they mentioned his name because I felt that he is going to help us. He will add that speed upfront. He has played two practice matches and he has scored two goals. I watched a few games of Mokoena. He is a big left-sided centre back. He is a ball playing centre-back. We are happy to have these boys and he want to give them game time and experience. We are excited and we also want to thank Kaizer Chiefs.”
Both players could make their debuts for Callies against Cape Town All Stars this weekend.
