AmaZulu have made their third signing of the year, after completing a deal with Luyanda Hlongwa. Hlongwa impressed Craig Rosslee and his technical team during his trial with the KZN-based outfit, and has subsequently landed a new contract.
The Durban-born player played for Free State Stars in the first round of the season, however is now the second player joining Usuthu from Ea Lla Koto in the current transfer window, following Phumlani Mhamha’s move to the club earlier this week.
Although AmaZulu are still keeping the news of the deal under wraps, the Siya crew received confirmation from a well-placed source that the player’s move was concluded on Wednesday afternoon.
“Luyanda has just concluded a deal to join AmaZulu. He is in Durban as I speak having just finalised the deal,” said the source.
Hlongwa and Mhamha join Njabulo Manqana in the list of new players in Rosslee’s team. AmaZulu are also expected to conclude a deal with Timothy Batabaire, in the near future.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic and Wits defender has impressed during his trial with the team. Sources close to the proceedings in KZN have confirmed to the Siya crew that the player has already done his medical and is now waiting to finalise the move.
