Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Hlompho Kekana, declared that the camp is full of joy following their hard-earned draw against Australia on Monday.
Kekana told the Siya crew that the result against a 59th-ranked Australian team, has aided in establishing harmony within the camp and bringing much needed composure to the rookie players ahead of the match against the All Whites of New Zealand tomorrow.
“As senior players it is great to see the rookie players being cooperative and listening to our advice. We have tried easing their nerves by talking to them and assuring them that they deserve to be here and to be part of the squad.”
“Their enthusiasm is refreshing which is important as we build for the future. We have had some bad results in the past but what is pivotal is that we need to concentrate on rebuilding rather than past results.”
“This match against New Zealand will be important for the young players to gain experience. After failing to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil we could do with a little hope and that’s why this match is so crucial. It will be a learning experience for us,” concluded the 29-year-old Sundowns midfielder.
