Polokwane City registered their first win of the 2013/14 PSL campaign after five games, against Muhsin Ertugral’s Ajax Cape Town, and defender Prince Hlela believes that their best is still to come.

Coach Duncan Lechesa recently parted ways with City, following four consecutive losses in the side’s opening fixtures of the season. However, this season’s PSL rookies managed to bag all three points last Sunday, when they defeated the Urban Warriors on home turf.
The Polokwane-based outfit is now getting ready for one of their biggest fixtures of the season, as they prepare to take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout. Following their win over Ajax, Hlela says that the team’s morale has been elevated.
“We really wanted to win that game and we are finally settling in the PSL and it was good for us to win at home. We will take every opponent seriously and with respect. We know Kaizer Chiefs is a big team but we will ensure that we don’t get intimidated, we will just play our normal game,” Hlela told the Siya crew.
City are without a coach at the moment but are being mentored by the side’s Brazilian fitness trainer, Eduardo Schoeler, who was appointed as the caretaker coach on the back of Lechesa’s departure.
Thapelo Tshilo is expected to sit out of the cup game against Chiefs, with the captain currently nursing a foot injury.
“We will miss our captain but there are good guys who can lead the team to victory. We hope he will recover very soon,” concluded Hlela.
