News reaching the Siya crew is that Ajax Cape Town defender, Thulani Hlatshwayo, could be on his way to Wits despite media speculation linking him to Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
If news coming out of the Clever Boys’ camp is anything to go by, Hlatshwayo has signed a pre-contract with Gavin Hunt’s side, however, it's not clear if the 24-year-old will join the Clever Boys during this current transfer window or wait until the end of the season.
However, sources close to the Siya crew have revealed that Tyson, as the player is affectionately known in football circles, has opted to sign for the Braamfontein-based outfit.
Meanwhile, the Clever Boys could let go of a few more players like Musa Bilankulu, who has with injury at Wits, as well as Thomas Sweswe, who is rumoured to be heading to Golden Arrows.
The Siya crew contacted Ajax Cape Town PRO, Thabiso ‘Shooz’ Mekuto, who says that there has been no formal enquiry about the players’ services and the player is expected to report for training.
“That’s just a rumour and the boy is expected to report for training tomorrow. He’s joining no one other than his Ajax teammates tomorrow. We haven’t had a formal approach from anyone and remember that there must be an agreement between the three parties, a buyer, a seller and the player. This is similar to Manyama’s issue, the deal is made by three people, the seller and the buyer can come to a conclusion but if the player doesn’t agree on terms, then there’s no deal. So all in all, Thulani is going nowhere,” said Mekuto.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor developments in this regard, and confirm where Hlatshwayo's future lies.
