The Siya crew has heard that Mamelodi Sundowns have finally got their man in Zambian defender Hichani Himoonde.
According to reports coming from Zambia, the Chloorkop-based side has concluded negotiations with the player’s club and he is now on his way to South Africa. Sundowns have been known to be big admirers of the player for some time now, having watched him on a number of times during the course of last year.
The 27-year-old will link up with countrymen Kennedy Mweene and Mukuka Mulenga. Himoonde has played has spent the majority of his football career in Zambia, but has recently been playing for Democratic Republic of Congo club TP Mazembe. He has not been included in the club's list of players for the 2014 Caf Champions League.
Although at this stage contractual details are sketchy, it has been mentioned that he could be loaned out to Golden Arrows for the rest of this season and start his Sundowns career next season. Himoonde has played in the 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 Afcon tournaments and will be keen to make a name for himself in the PSL.
