SuperSport United are yet to decide if they will exercise their option on Mark Haskins’ contract.
The midfielder joined the club at the start of the season and made 15 appearances in league and cup competition. The 32-year-old was not a regular for Matsatsantsa and with Gavin Hunt’s exit from the Tshwane-based side confirmed, further doubt has been cast on whether he will be retained or not.
However, It seems unlikely that SuperSport will take up the option until a new coach is appointed.
This would allow Hunt’s replacement the opportunity to assess the player, before the club make a decision. Haskins has since told the Siya crew that he is waiting to hear from the club.
He said, “I’m not sure just yet. I’m still waiting to hear their final word. Obviously, I’m in my option now and I’m waiting to hear if they going to exercise it or not. At this point it’s up to the club to decide.”
